How to embed Mastodon posts

You can only embed Mastodon posts through HTML code.

To embed Mastodon posts:

  • Go to your Linkie dashboard.
  • Press on Click to add link, post, embed, etc.

  • Choose Add an embed from the cards.

  • Click on HTML Code.

  • Go to the Mastodon post you want to embed, click the three dots in the bottom-right corner of the post, and select  Get embed code.

  • Click on Copy to clipboard to copy the HTML code.

  • Go back to Linkie and paste the embedded code.

When embedding with HTML, avoid using event attributes like "onclick", because they rely on JavaScript, which many platforms block for security reasons.

  • Preview it by clicking Preview on the top right corner.
  • You can always edit **on the top right corner or **remove the embedded post from your Linkie by clicking the bin icon.

Keep in mind:

  • Embed cards are full width by default and cannot be resized, only the height can be adjusted.
  • When embedding with HTML, avoid using event attributes like "onclick", because they rely on JavaScript, which many platforms block for security reasons.
  • You can include custom HTML elements like headings. For example: <h1>Hello world</h1>
