How to embed YouTube posts/videos

Step-by-step guide on how to embed YouTube videos on your Linkie page

You can add a YouTube video to your Linkie page by pasting the video URL into an embed card. You can also use YouTube's HTML embed code if you need more control over the embed.

Add an embed card

Go to your Linkie dashboard and click Click to add link, post, embed, etc.

Choose the embed option

Choose Add an embed from the available card options.

Select Paste URL

Click Paste URL.

Copy the YouTube video URL

Open the YouTube video you want to embed. Click Share, then click Copy to copy the video link.

Add the YouTube embed

Go back to Linkie, paste the YouTube URL, then click Add embed.

Preview your YouTube video

Click Preview at the top right of the playground to see how the YouTube video will look on your Linkie page.

Optional: use HTML Code instead

If you want to add the YouTube video with HTML embed code, choose HTML Code instead of Paste URL when creating the embed card.

Open the YouTube video, click Share, then select Embed.

Click Copy to copy the HTML embed code.

Go back to Linkie and paste the embed code into the HTML Code field. You can also add an optional title for tracking analytics.

When embedding with HTML, avoid using event attributes like onclick, because they rely on JavaScript, which many platforms block for security reasons.

Things to note

  • Embed cards are full width by default and cannot be resized, but the height can be adjusted.
  • You can edit the YouTube embed from the top-right corner of the card or remove it by clicking the bin icon.
  • You can include custom HTML elements like headings. For example: <h1>Hello world</h1>.
