How to embed Facebook posts

Step-by-step guide on how to embed Facebook posts on your Linkie profile

You can embed Facebook posts on your Linkie profile by pasting the post URL or by copying the embed HTML code from Facebook.

Add an embed card

Open the playground, then click Click to add link, post, embed, etc.

Choose the embed option

Choose Add an embed from the card options.

Embed with a Facebook post URL

Choose Paste URL if you want to embed the post with a link.

Copy the Facebook post link

Open the Facebook post you want to embed, then click Share.

Click Copy link, then paste it into your browser to open the full post URL. Copy the full URL from the browser address bar, because shortened Facebook links may not include the post ID Linkie needs.

Add the Facebook URL in Linkie

Go back to Linkie, paste the full Facebook post URL, then click Add embed.

Embed with HTML code

Choose HTML Code if you want to embed the post with Facebook's embed code instead.

Copy the Facebook embed code

Open the Facebook post you want to embed. Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the post, then choose Embed.

Click Copy Code.

Paste the code in Linkie

Go back to Linkie and paste the embed code into the HTML Code field. You can also add an optional title for tracking analytics.

When embedding with HTML, avoid using event attributes like onclick, because they rely on JavaScript, which many platforms block for security reasons.

Preview your Facebook embed

Click Preview at the top right of the playground to see how the Facebook post will look on your Linkie profile.

Things to note

  • Embed cards are full width by default. You can adjust the height, but not the width.
  • You can edit the embedded Facebook post from the top-right corner of the card, or remove it by clicking the bin icon.
  • For URL embeds, use the full Facebook post URL instead of a shortened share link.
  • You can include simple custom HTML elements, such as <h1>Hello world</h1>.
