How to connect a custom domain
Step-by-step guide on how to connect a custom domain or subdomain to Linkie
Using a custom domain makes your Linkie profile easier to recognize and more professional. You can connect a domain like domain.com, or a subdomain like sub.domain.com, depending on how you want visitors to access your Linkie profile.
Open domain settings

Click your Linkie URL at the top-left corner of the playground. A dropdown menu will appear.
From there, click the Settings icon.

Open Domain settings. This is where you can edit your free Linkie URL or connect your own custom domain.
Connecting a domain (domain.com)

Enter your domain in the custom domain field, for example domain.com, then click Save. The domain status will show as Pending while Linkie waits for the DNS records to be added.

Linkie will show the DNS records needed for your domain. To connect a main domain like domain.com, add all records shown inside Linkie to your domain provider's DNS settings.
Copy each record exactly as shown in Linkie, including the Type, Name, and Content values. Your domain provider may call Content something like Value, Target, or Points to.
Add the domain records in your DNS provider
Log in to your domain provider and open the DNS or Domain Settings area. Add every record shown in Linkie.
Here are a few guides for popular domain providers:
- Cloudflare (highly recommended)
- GoDaddy
- BlueHost
- Domain.com
- Namecheap
- HostGator

For example, if you use Cloudflare, log in to Cloudflare, open the DNS tab, click Records, then click Add Record.

Add all three records from Linkie to Cloudflare, copying the Type, Name, and Content exactly as shown within Linkie. Your records should now look similar to the image above.
Connecting a subdomain (sub.domain.com)
If you want to connect a subdomain instead of your main domain, enter the full subdomain in Linkie, for example sub.domain.com, then click Save.

For a subdomain, you only need to add these records in your DNS provider:
- A CNAME record with Name set to your subdomain, such as
sub. - Set the CNAME Content or Target to
app.linkie.bio. - If your DNS provider has a proxy option, set it to DNS only.
- Add the TXT record shown in Linkie settings.

After adding the CNAME and TXT records, return to Linkie and wait for the status to update.
Check the connection status

Once the DNS records are detected, the status will change to Live.
Your domain is now connected. Open the new domain in your browser to check that it loads your Linkie profile correctly.
If the DNS records were not added correctly, the custom domain status may show as Failed.

Things to note
- While Linkie is checking your DNS records, the status will show as Pending.
- DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to fully update.
- For a main domain like
domain.com, add all DNS records shown in Linkie. - For a subdomain like
sub.domain.com, add the CNAME record pointing toapp.linkie.bioand the TXT record shown in Linkie. - Make sure the domain is not already connected to another Linkie account.
