# How to sign up for Linkie

###### **Step-by-step guide on how to sign up for Linkie, your new favorite link-in-bio tool.**

|| Two ways to get started: You can either claim your username handle on the homepage and build out your page, or head straight into the [**playground**](https://app.linkie.bio/playground) and build first, signing up only when you’re ready to save and publish. Both paths lead to the same result.

### Visit the homepage
Head to [linkie.bio](https://linkie.bio/). From here you can claim your username handle right away, or click **Get your Linkie** to start building in the [playground](https://app.linkie.bio/playground) without committing to a username yet.

Type your desired username into the `linkie.bio/` field and click **Claim it**. Your handle becomes your public URL, so choose something that reflects your name or brand.

| Changed your mind? Your handle can be changed later under Settings → Domain → Free Domain.

### Choose how to start

The **Add new Linkie** dialog will appear with three ways to create your Linkie page:

* **Start from scratch** → a new Linkie page you set up yourself with the steps below.
* **Migrate from Linktree** → a new Linkie page based on your existing Linktree page. See [How to migrate from Linktree](https://linkie.bio/help/en/article/how-to-migrate-from-linktree-rf99az/).
* **Use a template** → coming soon.

|| If you open the playground directly, the dialog only appears when you haven't started a Linkie page yet (no page name and no cards). If you arrive from claiming your handle, it appears even if you started a Linkie page earlier.

### Your Linkie Page

After claiming a handle, or by going directly to the [playground](https://app.linkie.bio/playground), you’ll land in a live editor where what you see is exactly what your visitors will see. From here, you can add:
* **Page details**: A page picture, display name, and a short bio.
* **Cards**: add website links, posts, embeds, etc.
* **Styling**: choose your colors, layout, default theme (light/dark).

|| Heads Up → Changes made in the playground are temporary until you sign up and save. If you close the tab before completing sign-up, your edits will not be saved.

### Sign Up to save your page

When you’re ready to save, click **Save** in the playground. If you claimed a username handle earlier, your username will be prefilled. Enter an email, click **Sign Up**, and check your inbox for a confirmation email.

Once you click on **Confirm my email** from your inbox, you’ll be taken to a setup page where you’ll enter your \*\*full name \*\*and create a **password** to complete your account setup.

Once you’ve submitted your name and password, your account is created and your page is saved. Welcome to Linkie! 👋

Your page is live as soon as you **save your changes**. Copy your `linkie.bio/your-username` URL (located at the **top-left corner** of the [playground](https://app.linkie.bio/playground)) and add it to your Instagram bio, email signature, or anywhere you want a single link that goes everywhere!

### Things to note

* Claiming a username initially is optional. You can alternatively jump directly to the [playground](https://app.linkie.bio/playground) and then decide on one once you’re done editing your Linkie page.
* You can start your Linkie page from scratch or migrate it from Linktree. Templates are coming soon.
* Use a clear page picture and bio to make your page more recognizable.
* You can manage multiple Linkies from a single account - useful if you’re running more than one brand or page.
* Forgot your password? Reset it [here](https://app.linkie.bio/auth/forgot-password).
* To delete an account, send an email to [support@linkie.bio](mailto:support@linkie.bio) mentioning that you’d like to request an account deletion.
