# How to change your Linkie username

# How to change your Linkie username

###### **Step-by-step guide on how to change your Linkie username.**

Your username is part of your public Linkie URL. If you want to update your handle, you can change it from your Linkie **Domain** settings.

### Open settings

Click your Linkie URL at the **top-left corner** of the [playground](https://app.linkie.bio/playground). A dropdown menu will appear. From there, click the **Settings** icon.

### Open domain settings

In the settings menu, choose **Domain**. This is where you can manage your free Linkie domain and custom domain options.

### Edit your username

In the **Free Domain** section, click the field and type in your new username.

Your username becomes the last part of your public Linkie URL, so choose something simple and easy to recognize.

### Save your new username

After editing your username, click **Save**. Once you see the success message, close the settings tab by clicking the **X** at the top corner.

### Things to note

* Your username is required, even if you are using the playground without an account.
* Your username should be clear, easy to spell, and related to your name, brand, or business.
* It is not possible to change your email or password at the moment.
* Forgot your password? You can reset it [here](https://app.linkie.bio/auth/forgot-password).
* To delete your Linkie account, send an email to [support@linkie.bio](mailto:support@linkie.bio) mentioning that you’d like to request an account deletion.
